Peter has a PhD and masters’ and bachelors’ degrees in economics and over 40 years’ experience conducting economic and cost/benefit assessments of policy, programs and commercial activities for government and business.

He is one of Australia’s leading experts on cost/benefit assessments. He authored the Australian Government’s cost/benefit assessment manual and ‘Public Economics’, the foremost Australian text on the economics of public policy.

He is an adviser to the NSW Treasury, an academic at Sydney University and the former Chair in Economics at Macquarie University.
