Brent has masters’ and bachelors’ degrees in law and over 30 years’ experience advising government and business on all aspects of competition policy across all major sectors of the economy, including energy, media and telecommunications.

He is an Adjunct Professor at Sydney University and La Trobe University and Visiting Fellow at Melbourne University.

He has authored over 50 books, reports and essays on the regulation of competition and is a former partner with Gilbert and Tobin, Lawyers (Sydney) and Commissioner of the Australian and NSW Law Reform Commissions.
